Thesis ProjectThesis Project 2024.09-2025.05
My project draws inspiration from *The New Necklace*, a painting by William McGregor Paxton. The artwork, with its meticulous attention to light, fabric, and elegance, serves as a gateway to exploring the cultural exchange between China and the Western world during the 1920s. This period saw a dynamic fusion of cultural influences, with the West enchanted by the allure of Eastern aesthetics, while China, in turn, embraced elements of Western modernity. The project centers on devoloping traditional Chinese garments through this lens of cultural intersection. The collection aims to create garments that honor the elegance and heritage of traditional Chinese fashion while infusing them with a contemporary edge.
Project 2Corporate Club Kids2023.09-2024.02
This collection explores the striking intersection of the bold, performative spirit of the Blitz Kids with the structured, restrained world of traditional office wear. Drawing inspiration from the 1980s London club scene—where self-expression through fashion was radical and theatrical—this project reimagines corporate attire through a subversive, glam-punk lens.  Sharp tailoring and conventional silhouettes are exaggerated, distorted, or deconstructed to evoke a sense of rebellion within order.

This project ultimately serves as a visual narrative of dual identity—a nod to the countless creatives who live double lives: office workers by day, performers by night. By merging two distinct aesthetics, “Corporate Club Kids” is a tribute to subversion, individuality, and the power of fashion to redefine context.
Project 3 Moon Restoration2022.05 Based on the story of the immortal who restores the moon in Youyang Miscel-lanea, I have developed a vision of a human society living on the moon in this project. Set in the Tang dynasty, the time in which the story takes place, I have based it on the Tang form of traditional dress, brought in construction workers’ and astronauts’ uniforms as reference, and used Helmut Lang and Norma Kamali as inspiration. I design the garments for people who live on the moon and work in the sphere of construction, considering both aesthetics in their society and functions necessary for their living conditions.
